This is the Boston Cream Pie that my lovely friend Beth made for our Pie celebration. It was the hit of the party to say the least. She used an old family recipe that dates back to the original pie made in Boston with instructions to boil the milk and butter over an open fire.

I'm jealous I wasn't there for pie day and Ollie's birthday. Since I am too lazy to have such celebrations on my own, I need my sisters to invite me to theirs. Your tribute to Oliver and his harrowing birth was very sweet.
